~Must Have Item : Little White Dress
I adore white very much; you can never go wrong with it. And since mini dresses are the hottest fashion for Spring/Summer ’07, little white dress is definitely my pick!
This is the perfect moment for those who have legs and know how to use them. Little white dress will fit you nicely when you want to look dressed up and feminine.
Below are my quick pick like the pictures shown above;
- Pintucked dress with ruffles on the hemline and arms. Another choice for wedding party or formal occasion. Combination with black legging will give casual look.
- Eyelet off-shoulder dress. Perfect for dates, Sunday brunch, or even cocktails.
- Eyelet baby doll top. Either as a mini dress or a top for shorts, you still look fabulous!

~The Fabulous Fifties
The Fabulous Fifties!
Dresses, dresses, and dresses. I’ve loved dress since I was a kiddy, and it even took me 10 years to understand that Christmas is not equal to new dress :D
My favorite dress style is the one which came from the 50’s era, popularized by the 50’s goddess such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly and many more (not mentioned that I adore those ladies as well). I don’t know exactly how many dresses I have, but my guess is more than 3 dozens, and 40% of them are in 50’s cut. Though the dresses came out with different look, the main form of the dress is usually well-fitted on torso side and below is kinda bloated like tutu. More than 50 years have passed, yet the style won’t fade away. Nowadays the 50’s dress hype come back and reappears with much more stylish and various look. Kudos some young Hollywood celebrities who brought it on red carpet and made it a new trend. I even spotted some of them wear the dress pretty often, and they are Scarlett Johannsen, Dita Von Teese, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl and Paris Hilton.
Then...
Now...
Not only came with old classic-chic look, the new trend came with bold colors, daring prints and more details on it. That makes the dresses more provocative, sophisticated and sexier, without loosing its classics.
As far as I noticed, this kind of dress is very friendly for every body types. It just that different body type has different part of the dress where they should play more. For example on the sleeves, neck-cut, prints, color, length, etc.
Me, myself, love it because the dress compliment my petite and full body. Preferably the one with bold color, low-cut neckline and off-shoulder.. oh well.. I won’t be that picky and stick to those preferences. Of course I’ll go with 50’s dresses with more casual look as well. Every time I wear those dresses, I feel like I have kickin loads of confidence as much as having Gisele Bündchen’s long legs. Just pick the right dress with right accessories, shoes, make-up and hair-do, then I am ready for my own show ;D
This is one of my ‘moderate’ 50’s dress and how I added up some stuff in order to change purposes.
From left to right: Plain satin dress, working time, ngopi2/church/family time, party time.

~Platform: The Origin Heels
A while ago, I stumbled upon an old picture of mine. There I was standing in the middle of the street in downtown NYC, wearing a pair of PLATFORM sandals!
PLATFORMS! Looking at them now, I felt like I was one of the fashion victims. Platforms had done it for me, though I remember that I did have a good time wearing it. I could get the height I wanted, less the hurting I usually feel when I'm in heels.
These days I started to notice that platforms are making a comeback and I fear that the flat soled will reign again. The prevalence of platforms has made me rethink the fat of the platform shoe in 1998, just when I took that picture of mine.
Who did invent platform, I wonder?
When people think of platform shoes, they tend to think of the wild disco filled '70s, or maybe the foot high vinyl sneakers you may see on today's ravers. But apparently, in the late 1400s to the mid 1600s the platform sole reached immensed popularity. They were called "the chopine," an overshoe that slipped over a more dainty shoe, protecting it from mud or dirt. It made its major fashion appearance in the 15th century, usually designed with cork or wood stacked as the sole, with a velvet coat. Despite its popularity, the chopine also suffered many criticisms, though many shoe fetish love the idea of the shoes that give them height. That's when they started to be creative and invented heels and platform fades away.
As many of designers refer to old fashion as part of their creative inspiration, many designers would play with platforms from time to time. In mid 1990s, platforms were making a comeback and was quite popular at the time, as far as I remember. Hey, I was one of the users of these platforms. And so did the Spice Girls.

~Vintage Tees
Trend that I love so much is vintage tees!! Because it’s washed out, and totally looks like it’s been worn for ages. With printed rock bands like rolling stones and the beatles, to all-time favorites cartoon from the 80’s. (I personally love My Little Pony and Punky Brewster) It’s very nostalgic and makes you feel like a kid (Hey, it’s a good change, rite?) Vintage tees is best paired with a semi-light washed jeans. Keep it simple, because the tees already make a statement. Find the kid / rocker in you with vintage tees!
