~Fashion Sebagai Investasi

God,

Louis Vuitton, Armani, Which art in Hermes,
Hallowed be thy Gucci.
Thy Cartier watch, Thy Prada Shoes
On Rodeo, as it is in Tiffany's.

Give us this day our Visa Platinum
And forgive us this overdraft,
As we forgive those who decline our Mastercard.

Lead us into Harrods,
And deliver us from Sears.
For thine is the Chanel, the Gaultier, and the Versace,
For Dolce and Gabana...

Ameen

You go girl, lets go shopping…

~Vintage Fashion

What I love about vintage fashion is that you wouldn’t walk down the street and find someone else wearing what you are wearing! Or you wouldn’t hear another person whispering “psst, her top is soo forever21” or “that’s that tank top from Zara!” Ughh, I hated that! Even though, sometimes I’m one of them =P !

But the point of vintage fashion is that you could wear anything and and vintage screams unique, one of a kind. There’s just no typical vintage fashion. It’s like “freedom in fashion”. Because basically there are no rules. And what is the definition of vintage fashion anyways?

I used to be a vintage freak. From the worst flea markets to my grandmother’s closet. The fun part is you will be surprised on what you will get! Vintage jewelry’s (nope, you wont even see anything like them in malls), Vintage shoes (truly one of a kind) until Vintage Gucci’s (what more can I say?). And the best part is, they’re cheap!

Well the downside of this vintage fashion is that you can never be sure of what is clean and hygiene. I totally understand why some or even most of the people doesn’t want to go to flea markets. Let alone buying and wearing them! And I also agree that you’ll never know where the stuff has been; who had wore them, etc. But you can always dry clean them :)

But again, it’s like opening a Pandora box. You’ll never know what you will get! And some of the things might even be your hidden treasures.

~Legging Up Your Legs

"When I first saw Marc Jacobs spring 2006 runway in fashion magazine, I thought “What was in Marc Jacobs’ mind to combine tops with tight aerobics pants?” Then, I saw Madonna wore legging with designer outfits in magazine (Isn’t she first wore this legging thing in “Desperately Seeking Susan” movie with headband and wrist band?). This thought suddenly came into me “Every fashion piece has its cycle! Fashion is investment!”

Decades ago (in 1980’s I guess), young women wore leggings to be provocative and sexy with high heels, leather jackets, big curly hair, and big earrings. Today, every designer shows leggings on the runway. They are combined with tunics, dresses, and mini skirts.

I, who first think legging as aerobic pants, have bought several black leggings. I love to combine it with mini dress. But, I prefer to call legging as fashion defense. If your skirt is too short, wear leggings. If your bruises haven’t disappeared, wear leggings. If you’re cold in your 15?-air-conditioned office, wear leggings. If you are bothered that you forgot to shave, wear leggings. And after all, legging gives you slimmer look to your legs. Legging can be wear sophistically or casually. Combination of legging and high waist pencil skirt with simple cardigan and peep toe heels would make a totally sophisticated yet appropriate outfit to office. While for weekend casual lunch or barbecue party, combination of legging and summer dress or flirty feminine dress with flats sandals or flip flop would make a perfect chic look."
